Binsfeld's classification of demons

 

Peter Binsfeld prepared a classification of demons in 1589. Binsfeld's classification is based on the seven deadly sins. Meaning the Seven princes of Hell tempted people by one of those sins.

 

Lucifer: pride

Mammon: greed

Asmodeus: lust

Leviathan: envy

Beelzebub: gluttony

Amon or Satan: wrath

Belphegor: sloth
